Family

Well, gentlemen - we knew Satan was waiting in the parking lot and we knew he'd possibly come after family. We have only one choice. We turn to God.

Brother Ken and his wife Terri need our prayers. And this blog was only ever meant to be a way for the group of men that shared an Emmaus experience to communicate, to have a discussion. Ken has expressed an interest in not 'taking over' this blog and while a considerate thought on his part, I say take it over! The 8,000 pound elephant in the room is what my friend Ken and his wife Terri are currently going through.

Let's talk. Let's share. Put yourself back in that conference room in Bucky town and start typing. Ken - I love you, man. It was a personal blessing of the highest order to be at your table last month and I and praying for you and Terri. My wife is praying for you and Terri. Everyone is her bible study group is praying for you and Terr. Everyone I know that prays is praying for you and Terri.

I also had the blessing of marrying an angel. I can't imagine what it must be like for you as both a husband and as a physician to have to watch her go through this. Please know that we love you and are in prayer for you and for Terri. Go with God, my friend.

  1. We definitely go with God, Troy. Thanks.

I am not exaggerating when I say that the prayers of you saints are what is keeping me going. Praise God for His spirit that sustains us and encourages us.

The little demon on my left shoulder whispers "Some doctor you are. You couldn't even keep your wife from getting cancer! You couldn't keep it from coming back! You can't make her grief go away! Give up! You suck!"

I recognize that for the lie it is. Although I grieve that there are problems bigger than me, I rejoice that all of them are tiny compared to God. And so, Christ - I'm a little busy - could you please take care of that demon for me?
