Hi all, (this is my very first blog, I am so excited!)
Anyway, I want to thank everyone for allowing me to be a small part of the Emmaus weekend. I have to admit, I was not looking forward to coming to Buchanan, nothing against the lovely town, I just had a totally packed weekend, and this was one more thing. I was asked to come at the last minute due to a cancellation.
Over the years I have served on teams and really enjoyed being there. I have seen God remove the scales from my eyes and others. I have witnessed big "manly men" weeping like babies, when the realize how much God loves them...
But, I was not really excited about coming, because I could not stay, and I had come in so late. I thought, what good will I do?
That is another example of God's sense of humor. I think God had something for me to learn! And as I did, God was prying open my eyes (again!!!!) to see how much I am loved. And along the way, I got to tell my story, and witness to the great love of God for everyone.
So, Thanks be to God, for dragging me (not quite kicking and screaming) back into the Emmaus Community.
I shared this with my 4th Day group yesterday. It was fun.
BTW, find a 4th Day group asap, and clear your appointments so that it becomes a priority.
I have met with 4th groups over the last 25 years, and it probably saved my life a few times!
God really does love you, and me, and because God loves me, I am able to love you!
Thom
Thom - I think my only 'regret' of last weekend was that you weren't there the whole time. I enjoyed meeting you and hope we can run into each other again sometime soon. You have a fortunate congregation. Thanks for being my best friend for part of an evening.
