Grieving is Loving

So many people passed away in the past two weeks. In addition to those mentioned below, a friend of my wife, Marie Stevens, died after a fall in her home. Night before last, my uncle, Glen Franklin, died of pancreatic cancer. I found out at lunch Friday while in clinic. I'm now the oldest living male in this branch of the Franklin family.

After a while, that cumulative grief wears one down.

But wait.

We cannot grieve without being able to love. And being able to love, and connect, necessitates grief.

The solution to the inevitable pain of grief is rest - in the Lord; loving the memory of those in the Lord's arms; and connecting to those who love you here.

Thank you, Lord, for designing your world - and your Word - that way.

The grief will fade at its own pace. In the meantime, the grace and love will never fade.

God Bless,
Ken
